Offtopic: U-haulin’ Dramas

I can’t really do anything except laugh, at this point. I’ve been a very strong disbeliever in the ‘all things happen for a reason’ statement for a long time. I believe that things happen, and people adapt to their situations and environments.

Yet, over the last few days, I have had a hard time shaking the feeling that the world is out to get me, or at least prevent me from doing the one thing I need to do the most: get a U-haul from Seattle to Tacoma, filled with my belongings. This was supposed to be done Thursday evening. I have just enough stuff to fill the smallest U-haul truck the company rents.

The hiccup in what seems to be a very easy thing to do: I have never learned how to drive a vehicle of any sort, and do not have my driver’s license.

So… Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?

Hair Fair – 2 Days to go!

Two days until Hair Fair 2008 opens to the public!  I wish I could show you what I have in store for you… but I can’t… not until tomorrow.  However, I am all set up and looking forward to seeing you there!  For those of you who aren’t aware, Hair Fair 2008 is benefiting Locks of Love, a charity that fits hairpieces and wigs for children suffering from permanent medical baldness.

Demos of my new releases will be available one day in advance, listed on my designer’s page at Onrez.

PS:  There’s gonna be free stuff in my shop at Hair Fair, too!

Give a Gift Sales Event

This sale event is one that is brought on by necessity rather than just ‘for fun.’ Due to an emergency RL situation, I am being forced to move and my finances are not able to support the move right now.

So the low-down of this is: Buy a gift card. For yourself, or for someone else, and help keep me from becoming homeless (and unable to make you new, pretty things) in a month.

All store cards are marked down in price in the dispensers around my main store location.
L$450 for a L$500 value store card.
L$900 for a L$1000 value store card.
L$2000 for a L$ 2500 value store card.
L$4000 for a L$5000 value store card.

Any other donations are welcome toward my moving costs. There will be a donation jar located near the landing point of my store.

Hair Fair 2008

Sanctum Hair has been selected as one of the many fantastic designers that will be shown at Hair Fair this year.  I’ll be showing off some brand new releases at Hair Fair that I’ve been holding onto for this big event, so make sure to check out the demos on August 21st when they go up onto OnRez, and stop by my stall at Hair Fair when we open on the 22nd!

HAIR FAIR ‘08
August 22 – September 7, 2008

The 3rd annual Hair Fair will soon be under way! We are very pleased to have almost 90 participants this year, spreading across four sims.
The Hair Fair will be sponsored by Rezzable, who have donated the islands for this charity event.

Hair Fair donates proceeds to Locks of Love, an organization that donates wigs to children who suffer hair loss due to cancer, burns, and other conditions. This year, all designers at the fair will donate 50% of one style to the charity.
We will also have donation kiosks placed around the fair, where you can donate directly.

Landmarks to the event will be posted on our website, and to the Subscribe-o-Matic group as we near the event. We’ll have many events this year, including Bandana Day, the Fashion Show, quizzes, and the Flickr Contest. Joining the Subscribe-o-Matic will give you the benefit of being the first to hear about these!

Congratulations to Fine Delight, the winner of Avatar of the Month for August! This month’s theme, “Oops, I didn’t mean to do that” was not an easy theme, but Fine managed to capture it in a way that captured the eye and gave me a good laugh.
